History

Our history has made our company what it is today. Innovative and ideally prepared for the future!

Thanks to our new customer ZF Friedrichshafen, we succeeded in entering the world of electric mobility. Processes such as handling of circuit boards, laser welding of copper busbars and dosing of heat-conducting pastes are becoming increasingly important.

With increasing order volumes and ever larger systems, we decided to expand the assembly hall. The new building not only offers more space for the assembly of our systems, but also an office complex for our design engineers, and we can now hold project meetings more efficiently.

Gluth has stood for innovation and reliability for 70 years. We proudly look back on seven decades of Gluth and 30 years of Gluth Systemtechnik GmbH. Our history has been shaped by continuous development and growth.

After expanding the company premises with a second assembly hall in 2002, we reached another milestone in September 2012 and opened our new assembly hall. This development underlines our commitment to continuous progress and growth. We are proud to offer our employees a modern and efficient working environment that enables us to deliver first-class products and services to our customers.

In addition to the expansion of our own production hall for control and profile construction, a technical centre was established to provide optimum conditions for process development and optimisation. This is where research projects are carried out and the existing test systems and laboratory equipment are accommodated. Thanks to the modern safety equipment, even sensitive processes and systems can be developed and tested in the GLUTH technical centre. It lays the foundation for the development of innovative system concepts.

After the massive recession in 1989, Dieter Gluth dared to make a new start in 1992 and continued Gluth Systemtechnik GmbH with 25 former employees. The company once again focussed on special machine construction.
Dieter Gluth created the new mission statement:
“The success of a company is not determined by its size, but by its innovative spirit”

In a challenging time characterised by a slump in orders from key customers, Gluth’s management made the decision to expand its product portfolio for other customers. As a result, winding machines, press-fit machines, lapping machines and automatic washing machines were developed and manufactured specifically for the ball bearing industry. These innovations enabled Gluth Systemtechnik to enter new markets and strengthen its position.

The acquisition of Bosch as a customer led to orders from all over the world.

Following the cancellation by a Bosch supplier, Gluth was able to deliver an urgently needed special grinding machine on time with enormous effort. This order not only gave Gluth access to other Bosch plants in Germany, but also in France, the USA, India, China, Korea, Japan, Brazil and Turkey.

In 1974, the company celebrated its 25th anniversary with 30 employees.

Dieter Gluth founded the sole proprietorship Dieter Gluth on 5 August 1971. In the following years, investments were made in structural extensions and machinery.

After the unexpected death of Robert Gluth in 1956, Dieter Gluth took over the company from one day to the next with seven employees at that time and led the company into a successful future.
The existing machinery only allowed the production of simple parts. Dieter Gluth made new contacts and was able to win the largest German special machine manufacturer of the time as a customer.

In 1949, Robert Gluth founded Robert Gluth & Co Präzisions-Werkzeugfabrikation. This later developed into Gluth Systemtechnik GmbH.
After the war, the company started out by manufacturing rapeseed presses, which were sold to farmers. The son, Dieter Gluth, began an apprenticeship as a toolmaker in Dingolfing and then worked in his parents’ company, where his father also taught him design and calculation at weekends
